An empowered individual can achieve flight in a variety of ways but the one that is most common is the method employed by the Man of Steel. How does Superman able fly? Through the manipulation of gravitons which in the world of Arkhetype is the common way in which flight empowered people take to the air, which is why we don't allow gravity manipulation powers. Most flying heroes and villains already possess this power and to allow it beyond any other other stage in a comic-book setting is ludicrous.
The following is simply a break down of common powers as they are understood in this alternate universe.
GRAVITATIONAL (GRAVITON) MANIPULATION
Most cases of FLIGHT, SUPER-STRENGTH and INVULNERABILITY can be attributed to an EMPOWERED INDIVIDUAL'S ability to utilize GRAVITY CONTROL or Graviton Manipulation. As such, we do not readily accept the use of CANON and ORIGINALS that possess the power because in this world it's considered part of the greater whole. It is the 'godly level' of this ability (in combination with his many other powers) that makes Superman so powerful.
People who appear physically of average size and possess great strength generally perform their feats due to this ability, and along with it, normally comes the power of flight and invulnerability. The generation of the power itself is up to the writer, but usually this power is reliant on the presence of gravity fields which are everywhere.
We also attribute this ability to Aquaman's power to 'jet through the water', which would also be combined a molecular density alteration ability.
Basically there's often a relationship between the power of 'super-human flight', strength and invulnerability. This is not to say that one is particular reliant on the other, but the power of flight in the typical "Superman fashion", is generally connected to strength and durability in some way.
PHYSICAL ENHANCEMENT
HEIGHTENED STRENGTH, AGILITY and RESILIENCE can also naturally occur from physiological enhancements, such as a increased bone strength, greater muscle density, etc. In this case, the person's physical enhancements will directly effect the size and fitness of their muscles. The stronger and faster they are, the bigger and more fit they will appear. If your play-by is a skinny super model, increased muscle density will make them stronger without altering their appearance but realistically their strength is not going to enter the 'super-human' realm.
The strength of canon like Ben Grimm and Colossus are based on their physiology, though in the case of Piotr there could be some gravitational manipulation, perhaps even magic, as well. Superman would be a combination of incredible muscle density, energy stores and graviton manipulation, basically the whole package.
MAGIC
ARKHETYPE does not distinguish magic from any other type of power. Powers are powers. One doesn't have an edge over another. Naturally, if a character is going to have magic as the source of their abilities, their back-story has to support them. If they're born with magical abilities, even if they're not aware why, we still need a plausible reason.
There are two types of Super-Speed (well actually four, but the third is exclusive to Superman, and the fourth exclusive to The Flash). Your character can choose their speed to be based on Temporal Warping or Kinetic Movement.
KINETIC SPEED
Speedsters that utilize kinetic force are doing so by using strength and some other form of power to assist them moving at inhuman speed. Naturally, they requires some kind of ability (often Gravitational Manipulation) to combat the strain inertia and gravity on the body. Kinetic speedsters have to strong or possess an invulnerability or they would just tear their bodies apart.
The maximum speed that a Kinetic Speedster can achieve is approximately 300 MPH and one has to appreciate the amount of air they are distorting at that speed and the force their body would generate. That faster they move, the more their ability set has to provide a compensation for the injuries that can occur. Simply attempting a slight turn at such a high-speed would snap a normal bone and shred tendons. The energy it takes to maintain such speed also has to be considered.
THE TELEKINETIC LOOP-HOLE
Yes, a person with telekinesis can potentially use this power to stabilize their speed, but we actually consider all kinetic speedsters to utilize a form of telekinesis as a stabilizer. Basically a mind-over-matter ability that's essential to allow a bipedal biological entity achieve such speed. A person with a more developed from of telekinesis is not going to move faster and this doesn't mean that all speedsters can move things with their mind. The telekinesis utilized to stabilize a person's speed only effects their own body, and one of the things it does is generate a protective kinetic shield, an unseen membrane that protects them and tightly adhering clothing from friction.
TEMPORAL WARPING
These speedsters are able to generate energy that allows them to warp space and time in a similar fashion to The Flash. They require kinetic movement to stimulate the ability so they still need to be able to run, but once in motion, they can warp space and time around themselves and others in close proximity. They still generate a protective kinetic membrane but warping time also negates friction.
They can move so fast, that time itself can appear still, but this does not mean they can move anything easily. This is where Flash's access to the speed force and Superman's (and Wonder Woman's) incredible strength come into play. Your character and most other canon characters cannot generate enough force and energy to move objects while in a state of temporal-warp. They can only muster enough force to slightly deviate the path of a bullet, or nudge a moving vehicle. Basically, trying to move objects while in warp is next to impossible, the speedster has to come out of warp and accelerate with the object they intend to move. Thus to stop a bullet but to do so they have to decelerate with it, meaning they have to come out of warp to eliminate the inertial forces. This means they can probably only stop one bullet from hitting it's intended target.
Moving an object while in temporal warp the speedster needs to generate an incredible amount of energy to move a person a few inches and this will most likely drain them to exhaustion. In order to successfully move a person, they have to come out of warp and accelerate with the person, otherwise they won't be able to move them.
The amount of mass a speedster can move is based on their physical strength, but once they're in motion and achieve warp the object becomes lighter to them.
Temporal Speedsters while much faster then the Kinetics, cannot utilize their speed to generate force. To strike a person without breaking their own hand, they have to drop out of warp. So, while they're able to run up the sides of walls and dodge bullets, they can only hit as hard as they're physically able to at normal speed. Most damage done by temporal warping speedsters is by moving people into solid objects or propelling objects at people done by warping with them in hand.
THE FLASH is the only character we acknowledge having connection to the Speed Force, making him hands down, the fastest super-hero and the only one able to transcend time itself through speed. His body is physically designed to handle great speeds despite the fact that he warps time because acceleration requires it. This appears as increased muscle and bone density, but mainly it's his regenerative powers that provide the compensation.
