CANON RULES
You are allowed to use any and as many canons you wish in your stories.
Listed below are few COMMON CANONS but there are far too many to document them all but you are welcome to utilize any canons you wish, just please make sure you check the 'RESTRICTIONS' section to make sure they're allowed. Any canons you introduce will eventually be added and a graphic created.
The basic rules for using canons are as follows:
1. Please portray them as accurately as possible. Unless otherwise stated in CANON WRITE-UPS below, the site will recognize the Established CINEMATIC-UNIVERSE versions. You're also more than welcome to further unite the comic-book and movie-verse worlds.
2. You're welcome to use the canon graphic headers in your posts but it's not necessary. We couldn't possibly list all the DC/Marvel canons from the get-go.
3. Canons (and this goes for any NPC's) are useable by any participants in your story. As per our rules, those introducing them have to provide enough details and guidance to ensure that their fellow writers have the option to elaborate and/or accurately interact with and portray them.
4. Canons are not EXCLUSIVE. The one introducing them DOES NOT have ownership of them. Please DO NOT treat them as ASSETS attached to a Member's character. In order for a story to flow, everyone has to have access to all the characters to continue the story, NOT just portray their character's perspective.
5. If so desired, a member can solely portray a canon (through an original character account) if participating with another member's ORIGINAL CHARACTER. Some people are naturally going to excel at portraying specific canons and as such they may commonly assume the role if they're so inclined.
6. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR CANON TO BE LISTED HERE TO USE THEM IN STORY. If they haven't been added, they still exist. Most of the canons of the DC and Marvel Universes exist here. Just add them to your story and let us know if you'd like them added here, or if we see them being used prominently we'll just add them.
CONFLICT and DEATH
What's the point of conflict if there isn't a risk of death? Basically, in the comics, canon characters die all the time but they continue to live on in other 'time-lines'. We allow the same concept here. In your story you can BELIEVABLY kill off who ever you want, just realize that whomever you kill will end up miraculously surviving in some kind of heroic or lucky fashion. There's no need to depict this because whatever you write is an interpretation of events from a the perspective of the character or characters dying. You can completely mangle them, but some how or other what was perceived will end up being the opposite. This is the COMIC BOOK element of the site.
WHO'S THE STRONGEST?
In this setting no one is stronger than Superman, he is the bench mark, but this in no way means he can't lose a fight. Quite simply, no one else, hands down, can move as much mass or withstand as much damage as Superman. The Marvel World's equivalent to Superman is Submariner, we've nominated him, physically, the strongest in the Marvel World (Vulcan does not exist here), but closing in would be Wonder Woman, Thor, Shazam, Black Adam, Supergirl, The Thing, Colossus, and don't forget Captain Marvel. Super-strength is often kept subjective, and for good reason, but in order to clarify who's the strongest overall, it's the Kryptonian guy genetically altered by growing up on Earth who's able to move planets and withstand supernovas.
MORE DETAILS
As canons are used more often the amount of details their backstory will encompass will warrant their own profile. Members are allowed to submit a character profile for a canon character if the amount of story between them and their original character is becoming extensive. These profiles will be archived here.
