Please be aware though, that once any concept is added to the site it is open to all to be appropriately used in their stories as well. They DO NOT NEED your permission but it is simply polite and ethical to make others aware of you alterations and to never, ever, swing someone else's concept a full 180 degrees. That's just rude.
PROTAGONISTIC ORGANIZATIONS
JUSTICE LEAGUE

The members of this elite superhero faction exist off-planet, in the space station known as THE WATCHTOWER. They co-exist with other international law enforcement organizations, dealing with both terrestrial and extra-terrestrial dangers. If they were to name a leader it would be Superman, but the League operates as a team, all the senior members sharing in the leadership and decisions. They also have THREE EMBASSIES located in Manhattan, Paris and Moscow. It is through these embassies that civilians have the best chance of contacting the LEAGUE.
Currently the leader of the Justice League is Jefferson Pierce, otherwise known as Black Lightning. After "The Fold" and Superman's faulty judgment in dealing with the new empowered individuals introduced into the world it was decided to that the League would a new face (if not a Human one) and Pierce reluctantly took the place of the Kryptonian after all members unanimously chose him.
S.H.I.E.L.D.
The organization has been re-established and restored to it’s former glory. All Hydra elements have been removed and new protocols put in place to prevent history from repeating, of course, never say never. Hydra infiltrated the organization decades ago and it’s leprosy may yet be festering in the dark corners of the organization. They may never be able to take over again, but the new Hydra has moved beyond such goals, seeking mainly to cripple and destroy SHIELD once and for all.
Director Fury is once more in charge, flanked by Deputy Director Maria Hill and the loyal Agent Sharon Carter. They work in conjunction with the Avengers, based out of the former Stark facility which, despite their differences, Tony gave to his former teammates.
THE AVENGERS
They've gone underground. Members maintain the upmost secrecy of their bases of operation. Current senior members are CAPTAIN AMERICA, HAWKEYE, THOR, FALCON, BLACK PANTHER, ANT-MAN, WASP, (BLACK WIDOW), (WINTER SOLDIER).
THE X-MEN
Xavier's school for the gifted now exists on the island Genosha. An educational refuge for mutants seeking to live apart from the human world. The X-Men themselves live in various parts of the world, coming together when their particular talents are required. For the most part, they tend to lend their powers to others teams.
THE DEFENDERS
A street level gang of superheroes in New York. Two members, IRON FIST and DAREDEVIL maintain their anonymity and the group of vigilantes operate just on the fringes of the REGISTRATION ACT, specifically meaning that counter-acting State laws and such tend to bail them out when needed (as does Rand's money and the talents of a particular lawyer named Murdock).
THE CHASTE
The Chaste is a mystical martial arts enclave founded by Izo and led by Stick. They live apart from society in a remote wilderness location that can only be accessed by climbing "The Wall", a sheer cliff too high for the average human being. The climb also serves as an entrance exam. The Chaste's mission is to combat 'The Hand', a clan of ninjas that worship an ancient spirit named 'The Beast'.

Prior to the Sokovia Accord becoming mandate, the Baxter Building, became an INTERNATIONAL ENTITY under the sole jurisdiction of the Fantastic Four. Their high profile lives, saving the world several times had afforded them special privileges unlike any other superhero group granted by America and the United Nations. Their authority is on par with the F.R.B. and the Baxter Building is considered INTERNATIONAL SOIL able to grant asylum.
ANTAGONIST ORGANIZATIONS
THE FEDERAL REGULATION BUREAU (F.R.B.)
Tony like's to make fun of the organization and refer to it as 'Furby', even allude to the fact that sometimes it can be about as annoying. Established by President Luthor and managed by the Department of Justice, the F.R.B. is comprised of THE IRON LEGION automatons and the elite force known as the GUARDSMEN. Colonel Rhodes otherwise known as WAR MACHINE runs the New York branch of the Guardsmen and is in charge of the entire division. Stark manages the high tech police forces existing in just about every major city of the United States. Vision assists with the coordination of the Iron Legion, flying off across the country when required.
The F.R.B. is a constant threat to our original characters. If they're registered, they will continue to attempt to get them to work directly under the organization as an official 'Enforcer' and they will eventually be forced to participate in government experimentation. The 'Registration Act' isn't a good thing no matter how you slice it.
HYDRA / H.I.V.E. (Hierarchy of International Vengeance and Extermination)
These two organizations have amalgamated, more specifically, H.I.V.E. is now a sub-division of HYDRA, as it was all those years ago under Hitler's REICH. THE RED SKULL oversees all as the supreme-commander, while Adeline Kane, formerly Adeline Wilson (the ex-wife of Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke), controls H.I.V.E.. Both work in close conjunction with Lex Luthor, but it is only the RED SKULL, who while in disguise frequents the White House as a trusted advisor ALBERT MALIK, an elitist who made his millions in technology. The Red Skull, is not the only member of HYDRA that has infiltrated the White House, several members are loyal to him.
THE LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS
An international organization of the world's greatest killers, operating both for hire and their own agenda. They primarily specialize in assassinations and terrorism. Their leader is Ra's al Ghul, making them some of the greatest enemies to Batman. Other 'Assassins' like Deadshot and Deathstroke are known to the League and have worked with them.

The Hand is a ninja order that serves a demon referred to by members as 'The Beast'. The Hand's attempts to spread its dark influence over the world have led them into battle countless times through the centuries with an order known as the Chaste (Lead by STICK). One of the Hand's greatest warriors is Elektra.
The members of the Hand are NINJA. Most are trained to an almost supernatural level of skill in their art and then there are those among them that have been resurrected. ALL MEMBERS OF THE HAND have pledged their soul to 'The Beast', this means that when they die their body disintegrates into black ash. Their clothes, their possessions, all that they are returns to the Beast and if they have proved themselves invaluable may be resurrected. When they return they are are different. They will be endowed with mystical powers but their spirit will forever be trapped between the realm of the dead and living. Often these 'RISEN' ninja are distinguished by wearing 'White' in battle.
HELLFIRE CLUB
The Hellfire Club is in an 'INNER CIRCLE' masquerading as an American Society. It counts among its members the most famous, wealthy, and influential members of society. Membership is passed on to descendants, and can also be earned through wealth. While many accept the invitation simply for the pleasures that the Club offers, others seek influence. In fact, the purpose of the Hellfire Club is to obtain and exert power through politics and economic influence instead of outward conquest and domination. Since its foundation, the Hellfire Club has been involved in wars and assassinations to further the agendas of the Club's most powerful members. THE INNER CIRCLE is where the real power lies, and no other members are aware that the 'INNER CIRCLE' actually exists.
Lex Luthor recently became a member of the Hellfire Club and, though he may suspect, will NEVER have any clue that the INNER CIRCLE exists. Having the President of the United States as a member is simply good for the society. The INNER CIRCLE is controlled by the WHITE QUEEN - EMMA FROST and the BLACK QUEEN - MYSTIQUE. The Lords Cardinal, are simply what the other positions, Black Bishop, White Rook, etc... are classified as. Anyone choosing to write in this scenario is welcome to populate the inner circle with appropriate canons.
